Abstract

1 N.N. Grishko National Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; 2 Institute of Evolutionary Ecology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, Kiev; Ukraine To study ground air pollution in the Botanical Garden of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (Kiev), the epiphytic lichen Hypogymnia physodes (L.) Nyl. was used as a test transplant. Thallus specimens of the transplants exposed to ambient air during different periods under different conditions (cold or warm half-year, one year, or one year and a half) were isolated. Plasma emission spectroscopy was used to determine the contents of the chemical elements Са, K, P, S, Mg, Al, Fe, Mn, Na, Zn, Sr, Ba, Ti, Cu, Pb, Cr, Ni, V, Cd, Co, and Sb in the specimens. Concentration and scattering coefficients of the elements in the specimens were calculated for different conditions and periods of exposure. Calculation results were interpreted to characterize the main temporal and spatial patterns of air pollution in the ecosystem of the botanical garden.

Keywords
